This analogy makes clear the dimensions of the hotel trade of the EEC, from Copenhagen to Rome, from Dublin to Bonn. The registered hotels and pensions are providing the logistic backbone which enables Europe to be the world's favorite t ourists area. But EEC hoteliers are faced with a substantial dilemma in recent years, namely of how to meet the growing demand for lodging spa ce without stimulating an accompanying surge in construction prices mea sured in per room cost. Already the per room cost for a medium priced h otel in the federal Republic of Germany comes to about 30,000.
