Is this year's recipient of the coveted peace prize of the German Bo ok Trade Guild. The Guild council said in its citation on the bestowal of the prize presented in St. Paul's cathedral (on right) in Frankfurt am Main (Federal Republic of Germany) that "this prize goes to frre Rog er but also to the Communaute de Taize of which he is the founder and p rior a community which has placed itself in the service of world peace through its undertakings generated by the assuring power of the Faith t hey live". Schutz said the prize money of DM 10,000.00 will go to youth s in the slums of Oporto (Portugal) who have established and are runnin g settlements for destitute orphans.
