''Narrative of an Englishman who had suffered fifteen months` impris onment in Paris at the Conciergie and Luxembourg prisons during the pe riod of the first terror... The authorship of the account is a matter o f uncertainity ,but judging from the fact that it was found among the a rchives of the Codrington family and that Sir William Codrington, the t hird baronet ,is known to have been in France at the time of the terror , it seems probable that this gentleman was the writer of the narrative '' - p.1
