Microsoft Windows Users --------------------------------- To funct ion properly, your computer should support at least an 800 x 600 pixels screen resolution, 256 colors, 128 MB RAM, and operate on the Windows 98 SE, 2000 or XP operating system. Additionally, be sure your browser has "Show pictures" enabled. For Internet Explorer users, you will find the "Show pictures" option by selecting the following from your menu: Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, Multimedia. If the "Show pictures" b ox is not checked, do so. This software is designed to run with Inte rnet Explorer 6.0, Netscape 7 or later and Firefox 1.x. Instructions ------------------ 1. If your system does not support Autorun, click on TROMPED.exe to begin. 2. To use the Search feature, install the Java Runtime Environment, version 1.4.1 (available in the software fold er). You should have administrator privileges for this installation. Af ter installation, start the application by clicking TROMPED.exe. 3. Export feature a. PowerPoint Selected images can be exported and saved in Microsoft PowerPoint, if you have the full version of PowerPoi nt on your operating system and administrator privileges. This feature is only available in the Microsoft Windows operating system. b. HTM L If you do not have PowerPoint, selected images can be saved as HTML directly on your hard drive. These files will reside in the following directory: C: \M osby \P eters6ed \H TMLshows \. Note: The Search a nd Export features requires that the CD-ROM Server to run in the backgr ound. The Server can be started manually by selecting server.exe in Win dows, MServer9 application in MacOS 9.x and MserverX.app in MacOS X. Y ou can open the homepage by entering "http://127.0.0.1:1818/home.htm" i n the address bar while the Server is running in the background. 4. Slide Show feature To view the Html Slide Show click on the slide show link. The last 25 HTML presentations are listed on the page. Clicking on the link opens the HTML presentation in a new window. The user can a lso view a specific HTML presentation, by selecting the index.htm file in the C: \M osby \P eters6ed \H TMLshows irectory. 5. For Window s 98 users the Visual Basic 6.0 Service Pack 5 Run-Time Redistribution Pack (VBRun60sp5.exe) is provided on the CD. Install it from the softwa re folder. 6. Acrobat Reader can be installed from the software fold er of the CD. -------------------------- Macintosh Users --------- ----------------- Your computer should meet the following minimum requ irements: 800x600 pixels screen resolution, 256 colors, 128 MB RAM, and MAC OS 9.1 or later, operating system. Netscape users: Before start ing, ensure that "Automatically load images and other data types" optio n is checked. If not, click on the images button to load when needed, w hich is available under menu option Edit, Preferences, Advanced.This so ftware is designed to run with Safari 1.x or later, Internet Explorer 5 .1.5 or later, Netscape 7 or later, and Firefox 1.x.
